Migraciones Internacionales is a peer-reviewed, bilingual journal of scientific research, published twice a year by El Colegio de la Frontera Norte. The journal publishes articles, essays, and book reviews on the topic of international migration throughout the world. In all cases, the submitted work must meet the requirements noted below.

All manuscripts must meet these requirements:

1. Manuscripts must be unpublished. Upon submitting a manuscript to this journal, the author(s) agrees not to submit it simultaneously for publication elsewhere.
2. The articles published in Migraciones Internacionales may be transmitted and distributed in electronic and print form by El Colegio de la Frontera Norte.
3. Manuscripts may be written in Spanish or English and will be published in those languages.
4. Manuscripts may be submitted on computer diskette in MS-Word format, accompanied by a printed copy, or they may be sent via electronic mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
5. Manuscripts must contain the title of the article and the full name of the author or authors.
6. On a separate sheet, please, include the following information about the author: full name, highest university degree received, institutional affiliation, current positions, telephone number, postal address, and e-mail address. In the case of co-authors, please include complete information for each collaborator.

 
Requirements for articles

1. The Consejo de Redacción (Drafting Committee) of Migraciones Internacionales evaluates manuscripts to determine that they meet the journal’s requirements. Upon approval, they are sent to two anonymous reviewers, whose approval of the work is required for publication of the manuscript.
2. Including the abstract, bibliography, and any tables or graphs, an article’s maximum length should be 35 double-spaced pages, in Times-Roman 12 pt font, with 1.2 in. margins.
3. Visual materials (figures, maps, illustrations) must be sent on computer diskette or by electronic mail, in their original format. The text must indicate clearly where to place each image.
4. A 15-line abstract, emphasizing the article’s relevance and most significant findings, must be included. The author must also provide five keywords that identify the article’s content.
5. All references to published material and statistical data should be identified in the text in embedded author-date style, that is, by giving the author’s last name, year of publication, and page citations within parenthesis.
6. All information should be included within the text or in footnotes. Appendices and annexes should be avoided.
7. Footnotes must be numbered and should be used only when strictly necessary.
8. The bibliography, which should contain all cited material, must be arranged alphabetically by author’s last name.For books, each bibliographic reference must include, in this order, the author’s last and first name, first and last name of co-authors (if applicable), book title (in italics), edition (for second or more recent editions), place of publication, press, and year of publication. For journal articles, each reference must include, in this order, author’s last and first name, first and last name of co-authors (if applicable), title of the article (between quotation marks), journal title (in italics), volume, number, year of publication, and page span.

Requirements for notas críticas (essays)

1. Notas críticas are essays on current topics or research drafts. They may not exceed 10 double-spaced pages, in Times-Roman 12 pt font, with 1.2 in. margins.
2. The Consejo de Redacción (Drafting Committee) selects essays based on their quality and currency.

Requirements for Book Reviews

1. Reviews must be on relevant and recent books and may not exceed 5 double-spaced pages, in Times-Roman 12 pt. font, with 1.2 in. margins.
